Spencer Beckwith covers the performing arts in Northern and Central New Mexico.  From 2004 through March of 2014, he hosted and produced KUNM's "Performance New Mexico," a weekday morning program that included announcements from the KUNM Arts Calendar, as well as interviews with musicians, writers and performers. Since April of 2014, Spencer has contributed semimonthly segments on the performing arts to KUNM's weekend news shows.

The Santa Fe Opera: Soprano Amanda Echalaz

Fri. 6/29  10a:  Amanda Echalaz has sung the title role in Puccini's "Tosca" in opera houses across Europe.  She makes her American debut singing Tosca this summer at the Santa Fe Opera.  The production opens on June 29 and runs through August 24.  Host Spencer Beckwith speaks with the South African soprano outside in the Opera's cantina.
