Santa Fe Mayor Files Complaint Against Governor's PAC

Santa Fe Mayor David Coss is calling for an investigation into a political association committee associated with Republican Governor Susana Martinez.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports Mayor Coss, who is running for a state legislative seat, wants state officials to see whether a PAC supporting his Democratic primary opponent failed to register two major contributions on time.

Coss says in a letter to the New Mexico secretary of state that campaign finance reports for Reform New Mexico Now show donations from two oil companies dated April 24. He says the PAC did not register until May 29.

Election rules call for PACs to register within 10 days of receiving or spending in excess of $500. A spokesman for the committee says the April dates were "a typo."
