Recuerda a César Chávez

Mon. March 24th, 7p: Tune in to Espejos de Aztlán Monday evening when we will have a conversation with representatives of Recuerda a César Chávez, in anticipation of the upcoming César Chávez Day March and Celebration on March 29 in Albuquerque!

20 years ago following the death of farmworker leader César Chávez, Albuquerque social justice organizations and activists came together as Recuerda a César Chávez to fight for the naming of an Albuquerque street in the late farmworker leader’s honor. Since that time, with the support of the City of Albuquerque, the group has organized annual celebrations of Chávez’s birthday and worked to share the story and legacy of the United Farm Workers co-founder and leader with the broader community.

This Monday we will talk about this legacy and its relevance today, and let our listeners know about this year’s special guests, musical performances, and more! Please join us!
