Public Regulation Commission Candidate Forums This Week

Voter advocacy and conservation groups are co-sponsoring two candidate forums, one for each open seat on the PRC, which regulates a wide range of agencies and industries including telecommunications, insurance, and utilities.

Albuquerque area PRC Candidate Forum, District 1 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 UNM Continuing Education Center, 1634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque PRC Candidate Forum, District 3 (Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Española, Rio Rancho, Placitas) 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12 Santa Fe Woman's Club, 1616 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe Co-Sponsors: Coalition for Clean Affordable Energy, Conservation Voters New Mexico Education Fund, League of Women Voters of Santa Fe County (District 3 forum), New Energy Economy, Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, and the Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club.

Elaine Baumgartel was KUNM's News Director from 2013 to 2019. She was local Morning Edition host from 2007 through 2012 and she regularly hosted the station's live news and public affairs show for some years. Elaine originally came on board at KUNM as a volunteer and student employee in 2003.
