In December, KUNM reported that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management was extending its public comment period for a proposed oil pipeline until January 30, 2015. The 130-mile long pipeline would run between Lybrook and Milan, N.M.

On December 31, the agency's Farmington Field Office announced additional public meetings on the pipeline.

Those meetings will be held on January 13 in Farmington at the city's Civic Center, January 14 at the Lybrook Elementary School on US 550, and January 15 in Santa Fe at the agency's State Office. Each of those meetings will begin at 5 p.m.

According to the agency's press release:

The BLM considers opportunities for public involvement to be critical to the success of the planning process.  The BLM is seeking input from the public regarding issues or concerns that should be considered in the EA.

Comments should be received within the 30-day scoping period ending January 30, 2015.  Input may be submitted by mail to BLM Farmington Field Office, Attention:  Scott Hall, 6251 N. College Blvd. Suite A, Farmington, NM 87402; by email to BLM_NM_FFO_Comments@blm.gov; or by fax to 505-564-7607.
