Interview: Argentinian “Electro-Tango” TANGHETTO Bandleader Max Masri

Sat. 8/1, 4:15p: TANGHETTO has been nominated three times for the Latin Grammy awards, and it won twice Argentina´s Premios Gardel (Gardel  Award), the top prize honoring Argentinian music. Its bandleader and founder, Max Masri converse with us from Buenos Aires, about how Tanghetto has been flourishing globally  since the late 90´s.

Too often compared with  Bajofondo and Gotan Project, TANGHETTO  and Max Masri´s compositions defy boundaries in tango landscape: it´s deeply grounded in present time, and brings a breath of fresh air into this century´s Argentinian tango music.

With 13 albums produced by their own label (Constitution Music), TANGHETTO, has been touring in more than 20 countries, in Europe, Latin America and the US,  sharing the stage with musicians such as Al Di Meola, Goran Bregović, Jan Akkerman, Inti Illimani, Gal Costa, and Los Van Van.

We´ll share their music, their  2014 Latin Grammy nominated Album "Hybrid Tango II"... and their passion for tango!
