Congress Votes To Expedite Gold King Mine Claims

Congress has passed a measure that will speed up the Environmental Protection Agency’s payouts to states recovering from pollution caused by the Gold King Mine Spill, as well as make the EPA address claims filed by local farmers.

Local gun safety advocates are applauding President Obama’s executive orders on guns, which include requiring gun dealers to be licensed and to do background checks on their customers.

Saying that America faces a "gun violence epidemic," President Obama is taking "a series of common-sense executive actions" to reduce gun violence Tuesday, the White House says. First among the measures: tighter rules on background checks for gun buyers.

Obama Wraps Up 2015 With Year-End News Conference

President Obama wrapped up 2015 by taking another round of questions from the press.

At the traditional end-of-year news conference Friday afternoon, Obama began with a list of achievements, including the legalization of same-sex marriage across America and progress made toward addressing global climate change.

Tonight at 7p MT, President Obama will address the nation. He's expected to discuss the U.S. strategy for fighting the militant group ISIS.
