The number of people who are behind bars in America is much bigger than it was 40 years ago. In fact, it’s five times higher. That means a lot more parents are doing time, and having a record can limit people’s ability to get a job, find a place to live and provide for their kids. A local program is trying to help dads get around the obstacles and back on track with their families.

Sat. 12/5, 9am: The Children's Hour welcomes students from Jimmy Carter Middle School talking about holiday traditions from around the world.  Learn where trees are decorated with spider webs, and what the difference is between a luminaria and a farolito.  Plus, kids from the cast of The Wind in the Willows will entice us to attend their show with a song or two. The KUNM Kids Birthday Club, a family events calendar, great music and so much more, all in an hour every Saturday at 9am.

The holiday season is the busiest time of the year for many companies. But according to a recent survey by Arizona State University, businesses could be throwing away huge profits if they’re not careful to keep consumers happy.  From the Fronteras Changing America Desk, Nick Blumberg reports.
