Fri. 1/11 8a: 

Women make up the majority of low wage part-time workers in America.  At the same time, more women are serving as the heads of households and decision makers in consumer spending. How do the recent deficit reduction and revenue raising strategies discussed by Congress and the President impact women? Host Giovanna Rossi speaks with Heather Boushey, of the Center for American Progress about the impact of the fiscal cliff deal on the health and well-being of women and families.

How do sex and gender impact health? Does health policy adequately address systemic problems rooted in the relationships between patient, provider and insurer? Women’s Health Today looks at health from an interdisciplinary and woman-centered perspective, examining the many biological, psychological, environmental and social factors effecting health.

This show will focus on engaging women to vote, featuring Maggie Toulouse Oliver, Bernalillo County Clerk, discussing voter engagement with Adriann Barboa of Strong Families NM and Laurie Weahkee of Native Voters Alliance.
