We Do Know About College Rape

6/18 Alb-The recent Stanford rape trial verdict outraged people and as it turns out, went against what we know about campus rapists.

Placitas resident and forensic psychologist David Lisak has done studies and gathered years of research on non-stranger rape.  He has worked with many educational institutions as well as with our military to develop prevention and response policies.  As he told Susan Loubet, he has found that sexual violence on college campuses and in the military occurs in a culture that supports the violence and supports the view of other people, especially women as objects.  Lisak proposes a change in peoples' attitudes about sexual norms in order to cut down the sexual violence.
