Santa Fe, NM – Forty-three years ago this month, James Earl Ray gunned down civil rights leader Martin Luther King Junior in Memphis, Tennessee.
Santa Fe writer Hampton Sides, who grew up in Memphis, followed Ray's trail both before and after the assassination to write about this murky character. Deborah Begel sat down with Sides to talk about "Hellhound on His Trail," which has just been published in paperback.
