New Mexico state legislature adjourns
Albuquerque, NM – On Thursdays, we usually check in with reporters and writers for the online news source the New Mexico Independent.
Their reporters were at the roundhouse most of this week to cover a special legislative session that was called to complete negotiations on the state budget.
Lawmakers adjourned the special session late this afternoon.
As state senators debated the final measure, a 75 cent increase in the state's cigarette tax, KUNM's Sarah Gustavus called senior writer Trip Jennings.
