Las Cruces, NM – In the past seven years nearly 2,000 Americans stung by dangerous scorpions in the southwest have been treated with an anti-venom from Mexico. The drug is called Anascorp and it's in the final clinical trials pending approval by the FDA.

Worldwide there is a severe shortage of all kinds of anti-venom. For that reason, the company that makes Anascorp is beginning to get international attention. Changing America Desk reporter, Monica Ortiz Uribe, traveled to Mexico to see how the drug is made.
