Thurs. 6/30 at 9am: During the summer, oboes, violins and flutes can be heard floating on the mountain air of Northern New Mexico. Tune in for a diverse collection of classical pieces recorded live at the Angel Fire Chamber Music Festival.Big sky, vast vistas, 12,000 foot mountains, and a million-dollar sound from soloists who perform in famous venues worldwide. When the musicians aren't rehearsing or performing chamber music they enjoy golf and spectacular mountain hikes. Artistic Director Ida Kavafian and her husband, violist Steven Tenenbom, take their prized Vizslas on dog hikes every morning. Festival concert venues are spread across Northern New Mexico in the communities of Angel Fire, Taos, Las Vegas and Raton where residents have become friends of the Festival as well as friends of the musicians over the years. Everyone who attends is thrilled with the quality of the music and the intimate settings.
