And, Sara Voorhees interviews filmmaker Mary Lance about her latest film, Blue Alchemy, which explores the rich cultural roots of the indigo plant and its current role in sustainable development.

Blue Alchemy will be a showing at the Lensic on July 6th. Here is what they say about the film:
"Filmed in India, Japan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mexico, El Salvador and the US, this fascinating documentary weaves together visually stunning stories of indigo's cultural roots, its history, and the people who today are reaching into their past traditions to revive the production and use of indigo for sustainable development. Once again indigo is providing a critical source of income and beauty for indigenous cultures and is coloring their arts Indigo Blue."
