Martha Burk Discusses Albuquerque's Pay Equity Ordinance

Megan Kamerick
City Councilor Diane Gibson, Mayor Richard J. Berry and Martha Burk announce companies that met standards for pay equity under a new city ordinance at a press conference on Nov. 16.

Martha Burk talks with Megan Kamerick about the city of Albuquerque's pay equity ordinance. It's one of the only such efforts at a municipal level in the country and it's drawing interest from numerous other cities. The ordinance gives companies a 5 percent preference in bids for city contracts if they can demonstrate they have no more than a 10 percent gap in pay between men and women.
