Live In-Studio: Andy Othling

Andy Othling

Sat. 2/19 @ 5am: Yes, at 5 o'clock a.m., Nathan Girdner interviews Andy Othling (of Lowercase Noises) about his music and influences, and how he creates those cool sounds and loops that his music is based on. Best of all, he'll play several songs live in the studio! Andy Othling is the power behind Albuquerque's ambient/post-rock project "Lowercase Noises." Andy, an Albuquerque native who has worked with a few different area bands, is receiving international acclaim for his brand of ambient post rock. He mostly uses a guitar, with a dizzying array of effects pedals and loops to become a one-man musical force. His melodies are played slowly and deliberately, but build to beautiful heights. Fans of bands like Mogwai, the Album Leaf, or Explosions in the Sky will definitely want to tune in.
