New Mexico Republican Gov. Susana Martinez delivered the 2015 State of the State address this afternoon at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe.

In her speech, she called on lawmakers to "put progress before politics" and focused on issues related to child welfare, including funding for education, teachers and CYFD case workers. She called again for a repeal of the state's law that allows people who are in the U.S. illegally to get New Mexico driver's licenses. Martinez renewed her support for third-grade retention and called for stricter penalties for students who are habitually truant.

The Republican, who won re-election for a second term last year, reiterated her support for so-called right-to-work legislation and called for laws to prevent employees from getting workman's comp benefits if they are high or drunk on the job.
