Mon. 12 May 7p: Henry Gonzales will interview members of the Sephardic community about the upcoming Festival Djudeo Espanyol 2014. Héctor Contreras, one of the presenters, will talk about two Mexican film presentations at the Festival. Héctor is a native of Chihuahua, México who has done extensive research on Jewish literature, history and culture.
Also joining the conversation will be Jacobo de la Serna, an artist whose work will be on display at the Festival. He will share his crypto-Jewish experience and of his grandmother who practiced Judaism in secret. Maria Apodaca will also talk about her converso experience, and about the activities of the Festival. Hershel Weiss will also be on hand to talk about the Festival as well.
