A blues pianist and vocalist, she combines boogie-woogie with elements of blues, jazz, soul, gospel and pop. Her vocal style has been compared to Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie and Aretha Franklin. Then, playing together as The Juke Joint Duo, Cedric Burnside and Lightnin' Malcolm craft a sound reminiscent of such minimalist rock duos as The Black Keys and The White Stripes, while still retaining a sound uniquely their own. They feature drums, guitar and dual vocal harmonies, and fuse Soul, Hip-Hop and Funk with electrifying Blues that's contemporary and traditional all at the same time.
