Abluquerque, NM – Bay Stevens wants New Mexicans to start a new conversation about identity and assimilation.
She says there are many different kinds of stories about how people feel about their own evolving American identity. Stevens says her interest in this question started with her own experience in the 1960s.
She organized an event tonight at the Peace and Justice Center in Albuquerque to have people tell their own stories about assimilation and identity in the US today.
