Deborah Madison on Women's Focus

Sat. 8/10 12p: How is it that spinach, chard and beet greens along with some edible weeds that are no doubt in your garden are called "goosefoots"?
In another segment of Revolutionary Soup, Carol Boss welcomes Deborah Madison. She's a chef, cooking teacher, local food activist, writer (whose specialties are seasonal vegetable recipes with an emphasis on farmers markets produce), local food activist, and home gardener. Connecting people to the food they eat, its source and its history has long been her work.

Deborah will talk about her highly acclaimed new book, Vegetable Literacy, which is all about twelve plant families. She'll share their quirks and histories and relationships to one another and, of course, how to cook and use them.
