Cashing In by Kicking Out?

Mon. 2/20 11a: The Pala Band of Mission Indians in California recently dis-enrolled 154 of its tribal members. Several other tribes in the state, including the Chukchansi, United Auburn and San Pasqual, have also kicked members off their tribal rolls.

These dis-enrolled Indians have been cut off from their tribal per capita payments from casino revenues, collectively, hundreds of millions of dollars. The tribes say it’s because of their bloodlines – that they’re not really Indian.

Is it just a coincidence that all of these tribes have casinos and per capita payments?

Guests include attorney Dennis Chappabitty (Comanche).
