Wed. 2/9: Blackstone is a new Canadian TV drama that tells the story of the fictional Blackstone First Nation, suffering disintegration by its own hand - the result of the corruption of its Chief and Council. Guests include Ron E. Scott/Executive Producer of Blackstone.
The drama is described as an intense exploration of First Nations' power and politics. The storyline for Blackstone is in sharp contrast to sympathetic stories about First Nations' people being victimized by outside forces. What do you think of this premise? Why aren't we producing compelling Native-centered dramas in the U.S.?
