Megan Feldman Bettancourt is a journalist who is originally from New Mexico, and is now based in Denver. She became intrigued by the story of Azim Khamisa, who's son was murdered and who decided to work with the grandfather of his son's killer to spread the idea of forgiveness.
In her book “Triumph of the Heart: Forgiveness in an Unforgiving World” she explores the concept of forgiveness, including its roots in religious imperatives and the latest neuroscience research on the impact of forgiving. The book includes her own journey of forgiveness, as well as forgiveness in families, and even the decision by victims of mass rape and genocide in Rwanda to forgive their perpetrators.
