Review: Eileen Garvin's "How to be a sister: A love story with a twist of autism"

Albuquerque, NM – More and more parents are facing the challenges and joys of raising children with autism. What about the sisters and brothers of autistic kids?

Katie Stone has this book review.

Stone does advocacy work for people with disabilities and has a family member with autism. She lives in Albuquerque.

Commentary: Roxanne Allen on tuberculosis at home and abroad

Albuquerque, NM – In the United States, it's often considered a disease of the past, but last year TB was the leading killer of people with AIDS around the world. It's also especially dangerous for young women.

Roxanne Allen is a local volunteer with RESULTS, an organization which works to end poverty.

She says tuberculosis is curable and there are ways to stop the spread of the disease, but more political will is needed to save lives and protect people both in New Mexico and around the world.
