In the state Senate, the Judiciary Committee gave approval to an amended House bill that caps fees Payday Lenders can charge customers. Payday Loan business operator Jamie Warner opposes that measure.

House Bill 92 also limits the amount any person can borrow from a Payday Lending Company to 25% of their monthly income. Stephanie Poston of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center says the bill is good for her community, which is disproportionately affected by what she calls predatory lenders.
