Wed. 6/19 10a: From June 20 through June 23, guitar lovers of all ages converge on the Albuquerque campus of the University of New Mexico for the annual New Mexico Classical Guitar Festival. Along with workshops, classes and lectures, the Festival features concerts in UNM's Keller Hall with visiting guest artists, Benjamin Verdery, Marcin Dylla and Adam Larison. Spencer Beckwith talks about the concerts with one of the organizers of the Festival, from the guitar faculty at Albuquerque Academy, Jeremy Mayne.

Fri. 6/14 10a: Santa Fe's international new media festival, Currents, returns from June 17 through June 30. Regional, national and international new media artists are displaying, and often performing with, their work indoors and outdoors at locations all around the city. Spencer Beckwith is joined by artist Frank Ragano, of Santa Fe's Parallel Studios, who organized the festival with his partner, Mariannah Amster.

Fri. 5/31 10a: The Borromeo, Shanghai and Brentano String Quartets, pianists Robert McDonald and Thomas Sauer, and violist Michael Tree are the faculty members in residence this summer at the Taos School of Music. From June 16 through August 4, as part of the School's 51st Annual Chamber Music Festival, the faculty and their students perform in concerts at both the Taos Community Auditorium and the Hotel St. Bernard in the Taos Ski Valley. Spencer Beckwith is joined by the Executive Director of the Taos School of Music, Kathleen Anderson Knox.

Fri. 5/31 10a: Chamber Music Albuquerque brings two ensembles to New Mexico for its 72nd annual June Music Festival. The recently-formed piano trio, Martinez Urioste Brey, is in concert in the Simms Center at Albuquerque Academy on June 9, and Cuarteto Latinoamericano gives two concerts: a program of tango music, with bandoneonista Daniel Binelli, on June 14 at Las Puertas in downtown Albuquerque, and a classical program of music for string quartet, on June 16 in the Simms Center.

The 2005 Broadway musical looks at the career and songs of the 1960s singing group, The Four Seasons. John Donald Robb's "Requiem"

Fri. 5/17 10a: The New Mexico Performing Arts Society and the Robb Musical Trust at the University of New Mexico are joint presenters of the first New Mexico performance of a newly-orchestrated version of John Donald Robb's "Requiem," May 23 in the St. Francis Auditorium in Santa Fe. The "Requiem" was the last major work of the noted 20th Century New Mexico composer, written in 1985 when Robb was 93. Spencer Beckwith is joined by the President of the New Mexico Performing Arts Society, Linda Marianiello.

Fri. 4/26 10a: Igor Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" gave its first performance on May 29, 1913 at Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris. The New Mexico Philharmonic marks the centennial of that historic premiere with a concert on April 27 at Popejoy Hall in Albuquerque. In addition to "The Rite of Spring," the program includes Copland's "Appalachian Spring" and Debussy's "Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune." Spencer Beckwith is joined by the guest conductor for the concert, Andrew Grams.
