The RIO GRANDE WATER FESTIVAL is a FREE community event on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 2 PM – 7 PM on the Sawmill Village plaza. The RIO GRANDE WATER FESTIVAL will celebrate the completion of Mill Pond Refuge, an urban green space situated in the middle of the Sawmill Community Land Trust. The festival will gratefully acknowledge the supporters of Mill Pond Refuge, as well as be a celebration of community with music, food, dance performances, and slam poetry. Activities for children and adults alike will be focused on issues of sustainability, and include free children’s activities including art projects, balloons, face painting, and a jumper. This is an opportunity to learn about water conservation and sustainable applications, and a celebration of environmental stewardship with food, entertainment and laughter.
